College Students Today Still Prefer ‘Old School’

E-books haven’t solved the woes of high-priced college textbooks. Even though today’s college kids are more plugged in than ever before, the prefer textbooks. Even as more publishers offer the choice of buying e-books for classes, students would rather lug around printed textbooks. While the price of e-books can be 60 percent to 70 percent of the paper version, a NACS poll found that 74 percent of students still want print. Our youngest daughter just left for her first year of college at Western Michigan University, and she wants the print versions too…

Happy Birthday To The Super-Nice Chris Young!

Country stars never cease to amaze me, and Chris Young is one of those guys! I wanted to wish this ‘super-nice’ guy an especially Happy 27th Birthday! When I went backstage to interview Chris Young on his bus, I was overheated and had a drink that was getting warm, so I asked Chris if he had a few ice cubes. He was so apologetic as he explained that he did not have any ice on his bus, but offered me a cold drink instead. I felt stupid for even asking this big star for ice, so I said no thank you and we sat down for our interview.
