Giving Tuesday was a day to remind one to donate to their favorite charity, but if you don’t have one or forgot to do it, I have a great suggestion for this weekend. I know you’ve seen the Salvation Army Bell Ringers outside of many of your favorite stores during the holidays and the money you donate into that Red Kettle walking in or out of the store goes further than you think.
The Salvation Army encourages you to “Be the Good This Season” by donating to the Red Kettle Campaign. Last year the Salvation Army was involved in providing hope to Metro Detroiters in need through more than 3 million meals, 730,000 nights of shelter and 94,000 Christmas gifts for children and seniors. So all month long remember to bring a little cash with you when you’re running errands to give hope to your neighbors in need.
I’ll be donating my time to be the one ringing the bell and bringing some cash to drop in the Kettle this Saturday from 10am to noon at the Kroger on Marter Rd. in St. Clair Shores. I hope you can come say hello and do your good deed by donating this weekend.
