It finally happened.
Over the weekend, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life debuted on Netflix and received an overall warm welcome from fans.
But perhaps the most-anticipated moment came at the very end of the fourth installment “Fall,” during which those shocking ‘Final Four’ words were finally reveal.
A bit of background: GG creator Amy Sherman-Palladino famously left the show before the final season in 2007, and later revealed that she had planned to end the series with four very specific words, which fans thought they’d never get to know.
However, when Netflix announced they’d be working with Palladino on the reboot, faith was restored, but the end result was pretty shocking.
In the final moments of “Fall,” Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) sit in the town’s gazebo, looking out at their beloved Stars Hollow on the morning of Lorelai and Luke’s wedding.
While Lorelai is clearly content, Rory looks perplexed, and then the mic-drop moment occurs.
Cut to black.
Naturally, the internet lost its mind, and they immediately began calling for more episodes to follow up the jaw-dropping moment.
As of now, there has been no announcement about further episodes, but with a high demand from fans and an already-existing partnership with Netflix, it could be possible.
