The Robertsons’ reign as reality TV kings has come to an end.
According to the family, Duck Dynasty will not return after the end of season 11, which premiered on Wednesday night, adding it was a family decision.
The show, which chronicles the daily life of the successful Louisiana duck call-making family, first debuted on A&E in 2012.
However, the Robertsons weren’t free of controversy. In 2013, Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, was suspended by the network after he was quoted saying gay people are sinners and African-Americans were content under Jim Crow laws.
His family supported him, admitting that though Phil Robertson’s comments were coarse, “his beliefs are grounded” in the Bible, also calling him a “Godly man.” He was later reinstated by A&E.
The final season of Duck Dynasty will be broken in halves. The show will run through Jan. 18, take a break and them resume on March 1.
The series finale will air on April 12.
