Tucker Beathard Releases New Single “Momma and Jesus”

Tucker Beathard releases a new single to Country radio this week called “Momma And Jesus.” He co-wrote the song, which appears on his new Fight Like Hell EP.

Tucker said, “I started playing drums when I was about two or three years old and with this song it’s like playing percussion but on my guitar. In a lot of ways I was a typical teenager, getting into trouble and doing things I shouldn’t, and I definitely pushed things a little too far a time or two.  My mom raised and is still raising five kids, and it takes a strong woman to steer us all in the right direction.  I have so much respect for the job she’s done.   I know at some point she probably wanted to ship me off to military school or something, but she stuck with me!”

One thing Susan Beathard was not in favor of was “Mother Tuckers,” the name of Tucker’s recently created fan club which he wanted to use for something else when he was a kid. He tells us: “It was a name that I thought of when I was like 10 cause I was in a band and I wanted the name to be Mother Tucker but nobody else wanted that and my mom definitely didn’t want that, so now I get the opportunity to do it. I was like, ‘Cool!’ I’m glad I got to finally use it.”

Tucker kicked off his first-ever headlining Rock On College tour last weekend with special guest Aubrie Sellers. They perform tonight (Wednesday, October 19th) in Portland, OR.
