Note to self: Bear repellent may not repel bears. Great.

What looks like a scene out of The Revenant, a Facebook video reveals the immediate aftermath of a grizzly bear attack in Montana.

Todd Orr – who, by the way, is the badass of the year – provided a detailed account of his gruesome encounter with a mother grizzly bear and her two cubs while on a hike Saturday morning.

“She was on top of me biting my arms, shoulders and backpack,” Orr wrote in his Facebook post. “The force of each bite was like a sledge hammer with teeth. She would stop for a few seconds and then bite again. Over and over. After a couple minutes, but what seemed an eternity, she disappeared.”

In the video below, which has been viewed over 19 million times, you can see a bloodied Orr with lacerations on his face and a compound fracture in his left arm.
