By: Jon Corrigan

Social media was set ablaze by the first presidential debate on Monday night, but one tweet from 2012 dominated them all.

While on the topic of climate change, Hilary Clinton brought up the accusation that Donald Trump not only doesn’t believe in it, but he thinks it was invented by China.

“Donald thinks that climate change is a hoax, perpetrated by the Chinese,” Clinton said. “I think it’s real.”

“I did not,” Trump quickly said. “I do not say that. I do not say that.”

It wasn’t long before fact checkers dug up this Trump tweet from 2012 – and it now has well over 90,000 retweets.
