HopCat Planning New Location in Downtown Royal Oak?

Royal Oak’s popular downtown may soon acquire a¬†welcomed addition, as a liquor license transfer is pending for HopCat¬†Royal Oak LLC, WXYZ reports.

Woody’s and Onyx Steakhouse currently houses the would-be HopCat location on W. 5th Avenue, but employees were informed yesterday that Oct. 2 would be their last day of employment.

The Grand Rapids-based bar and restaurant, known for its extensive craft beer selection and “crack fries,” has 10 locations, including Midtown Detroit and Ann Arbor.

As of Thursday, HopCat representatives have not confirmed the new Royal Oak location.
