Boy Grows Hair Out For Two Years To Donate To Kids With Cancer

When Thomas Moore was eight, he saw a video on Facebook about a little girl who lost her hair while fighting cancer and he wanted to help. So for two years, he didn’t get his hair cut so he could donate his tresses to pediatric cancer patients.

After growing his locks long, his cut mane was enough to make wigs for three sick kids. And now, this 10-year-old is being honored for his selfless deed. Little Thomas is going to get an Act of Kindness Award next month from retired NBA player Derek Anderson’s Stamina foundation.

“Since he cut it the kids at school have been very accepting of him. His friends think what he’s done is pretty cool,” his mom says. “Thomas said he’s glad his hair doesn’t get caught in the bushes when he plays outside anymore.”
