How Much is $100 Really Worth in Each State?

A Benjamin in Hawaii won’t get you nearly as far as one in Mississippi, according to a study done by the Tax Foundation.

In a map released by the website, cost of living comes to life – showing the state-by-state disparities of how much “bang” you really get for your buck.

Michigan is one of the “plus” states in America, with $100 getting consumers $106.16.

States where $100 is worth the most:

1. Mississippi ($115.34)
2. Arkansas ($114.29)
3. South Dakota ($113.64)
4. Alabama ($113.90)
5. Kentucky ($112.74)

States where $100 is worth the least:

1. Washington D.C. ($84.67)
2. Hawaii ($86.62)
3. New York ($86.43)
4. New Jersey ($87.34)
5. California ($88.97)
