Cole Swindell’s latest hit “You Should Be Here” just went platinum, which means it has reached one billion people through audio and video streams, track sales and radio And the timing of the song’s new milestone couldn’t have been more perfect.
Cole wrote the personal single about his father who passed away in 2013, and in case you missed it, Cole found out the news about its certification on what would have been his father’s 68th birthday, the same night he was performing at the Grand Ole Opry.
“Just getting to do something like that, I feel like he had a little hand in planning his own birthday party,” Cole shares. “Then on his birthday I find out his single is certified platinum.” Cole adds, “Out of all the songs I have released, there’s none more than that one I would want to have success. I thought, ‘That’s a meant-to-be deal, right there.’ That’s what helped me through (the day), knowing how proud he would be.”
