Brendan Dassey From ‘Making A Murderer’ Has Conviction Overturned

When Netflix‘s docu-series “Making A Murderer” premiered, people were hooked and then they were outraged. The show followed the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach and the trails that followed. Ultimately, Steven Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, were both found guilty of different charges relating to Holbach’s death.

The series raised many questions about the investigation and the validity of the convictions and over 130,000 signed a White House petition calling for President Obama to issue full pardons to both Avery and Dassey. Since the men were both in state prisons, Obama couldn’t do anything even if he wanted to, which he never confirmed he did. Now, however, Brendan Dassey is about to be a free man.

A federal judge has overturned the 41-year sentence Dassey was given when he was 17. If all goes as plans and the state doesn’t refile charges, Dassey will be free in 90 days…at the age of 27.
