This week, Simone Biles achieved a few of her life-long goals.
She qualified to compete in the women’s gymnastics All-Around, won her first Olympic gold medal as a member of the ‘Final Five,’ and got to chat with her all-time celebrity crush, Zac Efron.
On Monday, the 28-year-old High School Musical star took to Twitter to sing Biles’s praises, writing, “So phenomenal a skill’s named after her. Congrats on sticking the Biles and qualifying for finals.”
Although it’s likely that the 19-year-old all-star was fan-girling like crazy, she kept things pretty cool with her response, saying, “Thanks Zac! I hope you can watch Team Final tomorrow night.”
Naturally, Efron said he wouldn’t miss it for the world, as he shouted out all five ladies on Wednesday prior to their gold medal win.
Biles revealed in a recent interview that she keeps a life-size cutout of Efron in her bedroom (and used to kiss on the cheek on a regular basis). She also gushed about her crush while speaking with Ellen DeGeneres back in the winter, and Ellen proceeded to gift her with a Zac Efron-themed leotard.
Hopefully these two can schedule a little meet up after Biles is finished totally dominating in Rio!
