Slain Baton Rouge Officer Posted a Heartbreaking Message Before his Death

By: Jon Corrigan

A Baton Rouge police officer who was killed in a shooting on Sunday had posted a heartbreaking Facebook message just 10 days earlier, writing that he was tired both “physically and emotionally.”

Montrell Jackson, 32, was killed alongside two other officers by a gunman.

A screenshot of Jackson’s post has been circulating the internet, but it’s no longer on his Facebook page.

The 10-year-veteran of the police force, described by relatives as a “gentle giant” and a “protector,” leaves behind a wife and a 4-month-old son named Mason.
