In a world where the Internet has been used for a lot of evil, there are also a few bright spots to be found. With that, we introduce you to 17-year-old Tayja Jones. Miss Jones felt so beautiful in her sequined prom dress that she decided to share a photo of herself on Instagram last week.
And when she did, boy did the meanness fly. In fact, she was pretty well humiliated. Her initial post of “So happy I enjoyed myself” was replaced the next morning with “Should of never went Should of never posted any pics (sic).” How is that “good news?” Because the Twitterverse struck back – and HARD.[tweet https://twitter.com/__tayjj__/status/726607061228883969]
Soon, the messages of support for Tayja began flowing from around the world – many with the hashtag #TeamTayja. Tayja’s mom says she’s struggling to believe in herself again, but she has a message for others being bullied. “You’re not the only person,” she offers. “You should know who you are inside and the outside shouldn’t affect the inner you. Just stay strong.”
