Country Stars Share Stories About Their Mom

With Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, some of today’s biggest stars are sharing their favorite memories, stories and thoughts about their moms, as well as some info on how they plan to celebrate the big day.

Kenny Chesney, Brett Eldredge, Miranda Lambert and the rest of the country music community are all about Mom this weekend! In case you’ve forgotten, Mother’s Day is Sunday.

Kenny Chesney shares the biggest lesson he learned from his mom. “I think one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned from my mom is just, no matter what life throws at you, is just to take a step back and a deep breath and just still take life as it comes.”

Brett Eldredge says his mom Robin was his first sound engineer. “My mom and I are very tight, I mean, she was literally hauling speakers around with me when I was a kid in the back of our minivan. She was running sound for me.”

Sara Evans says her family never disappoints on Mother’s Day. “He’ll do something awesome on Mother’s Day every time, like get me a necklace that has seven diamonds on it to represent each child, or…and they always bring me coffee and breakfast in bed, and we just do really exactly whatever I want to do, and usually that’s goin’ outside and playin’ sports of some kind.”

Brantley Gilbert calls his mom an angel from heaven. “I do believe the good Lord sent an angel to take care of me, and she did a really good job. She is my rock. She’s my heart.”

Miranda Lambert says life’s a blast with her mom Beverly. “My mom is a riot. She’s like, such a party animal — she loves to be on the road with me. My family is just great. They know when I need my space, but they also know when I need support. So it’s really great to have a family like that.”

Thomas Rhett says his mom shaped him into the man he is today. “My mom’s a saint. Growing up mom was one of the main people that always took me to football practice, or whenever I had a play she’d always take me. She was always there at everything. So growin’ up mom really made sure that I had my head on straight. So she is a big, big reason the way that I am and the way that I am today.”

Keith Urban says Sunday and Faith lucked out with a mom like Nicole. “She’s an extraordinary mum, she really, really is. Those girls are very, very lucky, and I feel very lucky that the children I should have in this world happen to be with Nic.”

Chris Young says he’s thankful for being raised by such great parents. “To get to spend a little time with your mom. You know, it’s not necessarily all about, you know, getting her a gift, it’s about just saying, ‘Thank you.’ I mean, they really do shape so much of your life. Your parents do.”
