Garth Brooks Talks Grand Rapids, Favorite Fast Food and Hoedown

Garth Brooks joined Chuck, Rachael and Grunwald this morning to hype his first show EVER in Grand Rapids. He’ll be playing the Van Andel Arena on May 14th. Tickets are on sale today.

Garth says he is very excited to play Grand Rapids, a city he has never played. “Our group has been together for 100 years, so when we get to play a city we’ve never played before is exciting.”

We all know that Garth’s wife, Trisha Yearwood is an amazing cook. So much so that catering uses her recipes when cooking for the him and the band. However, Garth still loves to drive thru a local fast food spot. What is his favorite? “I’ve always been a Taco Bell guy. Back in the day when you have 50 guy with 6 buses, you could pull into a Taco Bell and feed them all for $25!” He’s also a fan of Chick-fil-A, which will finally be opening stores in Michigan!

Before we left Garth, we had to ask him about his first big gig, the WYCD Hoedown! “That was the first gig with a full band and go out and play. That was huge for me. Everybody treated me so nicely!”
