Distracted Drivers May Have To Submit To Roadside ‘Text-Alyzer’

By: Linda Lee

If someone is involved in an accident due to distracted driving, this new gadget can prove the driver was texting while driving.

Everyone knows driving and texting is dangerous and new legislation proposed in New York sets out to use a new device, called a “textalyser“, to help police determine whether the person driving was being unlawfully distracted.

Under the legislation, drivers involved in accidents would have to submit their phone to roadside testing from a “textalyzer” to determine whether the driver was using a phone ahead of a crash.

The roadside technology is being developed by a firm that specializes in mobile forensics.

I think this is a good idea, and would definitely make more people (like me) think twice before texting or using your phone while driving. We can make all the excuses that we want, but TRUTH is that anyone who still texts or looks at incoming texts while driving is totally distracted, and it can cause an accident as a result.
