With my own daughter getting married this year, I was SHOCKED to see the national average cost of a wedding. There is NO way we would ever shell out this much dough…
A survey of nearly 18,000 brides found couples are shelling out more than ever when it comes to their special day, and mainly use their phones to do the planning. Eighty-nine percent of couples say they used a mobile device to plan their wedding in some way, mostly to look at dresses.
TheKnot finds the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. as of 2015 is $32,641, an average increase of $5,500 since 2009. Depending on the location of the wedding, the number can be considerably higher.
While couples are inviting fewer people, the cost per guest has increased significantly. In 2015, 139 guests was the average but each cost $237.
My daughter is getting married this summer and her wedding will not be costing anywhere near what they are saying here. I think that these figures are outrageous and unnecessary. I think the total cost per person for my daughters wedding will be about $50 per person, and that includes EVERYTHING…..the venue, AWESOME food, an AWESOME BAND, booze and decorations!
