Superbowl week is turning out to be a heartbreaking one for NFL star Tony Steward who tragically lost his fiancee Brittany Burns, 26, to cancer. The gorgeous Clemson University grad was just diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer in December. The Buffalo Bills linebacker confirmed the news of his fiancee’s sudden death on Feb. 2 with a touching tribute post.
Brittany Ann Steward! Wow BEAUTIFUL is the only way I know you. You have the biggest heart I have ever seen in my entire life and I promise you that it will live on in me, our family and every single soul you have touched. You are the strongest and most loving soul to step foot in this world. You have been my rock, my motivation, my heart, my soulmate, my everything since the day I laid eyes on you. Every single day of your life you have been a fighter and I know this because of the unbelievable family you brought me into. We will all honor everything you stand for in life. I will continue to be the person that you always bring out in me. Believe me when I say that I deeply love you with every ounce of everything in me. Love always, Your Fiancé #fightinglikeagirl #fightlikebritt
Brittany fought a difficult battle and just last month Steward posted this beautiful photo of the two.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most deadly cancers for women. She was so young to have her life taken away. Our hearts and prayers go out to Tony and Brittany’s family. Cancer is something everyone can relate to. We’ve all known someone who battled cancer or lost someone we love to cancer. #CancerSucks
If you are not too familiar with Tony Steward, he was selected by the Bills in the 6th round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played 7 games with the team this season before being injured. After Brittany’s diagnosis, the couple started up a campaign called Fight Like A Girl to raise money and awareness for ovarian cancer. Learn more HERE!
