Florida Georgia Line‘s Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley have been traveling across Africa for the past two weeks. During their stay, they’ve visited orphanages, gone on safari and most recently played at prison.
“Got to go into a high security prison in Zomba, Malawi (YouTube it) and sing with the prison band that has been nominated for a Grammy,” Hubbard captioned a photo on Instagram. “It’s the craziest story and if you haven’t heard about it do yourself a favor and look it up. It was a true honor and amazing experience to be welcomed into the prison and to hear their stories with my team mate @hayley_hubbard #musicbehindbars”
The Zomba Prison Project is nominated in the Best World Music Album category for its I Have No Everything Here, which was recorded by Grammy-winning producer Ian Brennan and his wife, filmmaker Marilena Delli during a trip to Malawi in 2013. Learn more here.
