They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but but when it comes to engagement rings, some couples are bucking the trend and forgoing jewelry altogether.
Instead, they’re relying on some ink and the skills of an artist to create matching tattoos for both the bride and groom. The inked artwork signifies the same long-lasting commitment that a ring typically does — with tattoos being a little more difficult to remove.
As of 2014, the average price of an engagement ring had risen to $5,855.
