The last two years have been tough for Tennessee teen, Allie Allen. Just over two years ago, Allie was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Going through something like that is one of the single most toughest things anyone has to deal with…especially a teen.
However, despite all this. Allie has kept a HUGE smile on her face, thanks, in part, to an amazing support group. A support group that includes a boyfriend who shaved his head before homecoming. And, Kelsea Ballerini.
Earlier this morning, Allie and Kelsea sat down on the TODAY show. As a part of their “Thanks and Giving” segment.
Their friendship began at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis. Where funny enough, Kelsea mistook Allie (who had hair at the time) for another artist there that day!
“I’m kind of trying to figure out what she sings and all of a sudden she’s like ‘Yeah, I’m almost done with radiation for my brain tumor’ and I was like, ‘Oh, you’re a patient. I had no idea,'” Kelsea told TODAY.
After probably laughing hysterically, the two became close friends!
Close enough for Kelsea to invite Allie to be her date at the CMA’s earlier this month. A night that Kelsea was up for two awards.
This was something that Allie didn’t expect. So she ” just started crying out of happiness.” (as you would!)
WOW! How sweet and selfless can you be? I’m calling “Dibs” on a friend like that!
Just thought I’d share this before Thanksgiving. Because I’m sure each and every one of us have someone, or something, that we are thankful for. I’m sure Allie’s thankful to have Kelsea in her corner!
