Taylor Swift’s Teary-Eyed Speech & Performance About Childhood Cancer [VIDEO]

You may need a tissue yourself as you watch this very emotional, first ever live in concert performance of  Taylor Swift’s tribute to a little boy who lost his battle with childhood cancer.

Obviously referencing her own Mom and her current battle with cancer, Taylor Swift clearly had a difficult time singing this song for the first time ever live in concert. ‘Ronan’ is about a little boy battling childhood cancer, and his devastated mom when he lost his valiant battle with Neuroblastoma in 2011.

With a teary eyed explanation of how cancer affects everyone who loves someone battling this disease, Swift dedicated this special song to Ronan’s mom Maya Thompson, who lost her son ‘Ronan’ just a few days before his 4th birthday. At Monday’s concert in Arizona the Bad Blood singer, 25 revealed what the song meant to her as Ronan’s mother Maya Thompson was in the audience.

Swiftie has never played the song before in concert but felt she had to because of a special guest in the audience. Taylor wrote the song about a little boy who was dying of cancer after reading his mum’s powerful blog. The words had extra meaning for Tay because of her own mom’s cancer fight.

While the rest of the star-studded 1989 tour has been fun and frolics this was a deep and touching moment and there was hardly a dry eye in the house.
