Hot off the heels of National Pet Adoption month, Almost Home Animal Rescue League is set to host a weekend-long adoption event on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th.
This event, labeled an Adopt-a-Thon, will focus on finding new homes for the organization’s 70+ current animals and will be held on shelter grounds at 25503 Clara Lane, Southfield, MI 48034.
Event hours will run from 12PM–8PM both days and will feature themed adoption specials that will highlight the Shelter’s senior animals, long-term residents, best buddies, and other specific groupings.
Dedicated volunteer, Dianne Reeves, said, “Our weekend long event will allow potential adopters to meet ALL of our shelter animals. We have a large number of dogs and cats of many different breeds and sizes waiting to find their forever home. This event on site allows us to showcase all of them and increase their chances of getting adopted. Our Shelter is full and we need to kick- start the adoption momentum so that our deserving dogs and cats are in happy homes. Once adoptions pick up, space opens up in the Shelter to save more lives. So please consider adopting a shelter pet, and adding warmth and love to your home with a new furry family member.”
Co-founder of Almost Home, Lauren Anchill, said “If by the end of the weekend, we adopt out 15 animals, we’d be thrilled that our efforts have paid off. Seven-eight animals a day is an obtainable goal that we’re going to aim for.”
For those unable to attend the event, donations may be made online at www.almosthomeanimals.org.
