Hunter Hayes Takes a Page From Ed Sheeran’s Book

By: Jason Raithel

Hunter Hayes made headlines last weekend for crashing a Sheen Righter’s acoustic gig at the Bidwell Restaurant in Washington, D.C. In case you missed it, Sheen cued up “Wanted” and Hunter left his table to help finish the rest of the song.

Bold moves like Sheen’s are a source of inspiration for Hunter. But he’s not the first musician to give Hunter reasons to believe in himself.

Hunter Hayes says Ed Sheeran is someone who has inspired him to try new things. “One particular artist, Ed Sheeran, I was talking to him about something he just did and his reasoning was like, ‘You know what? I’ve never done it before and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.’ And I thought, ‘You know what? I don’t see why we all shouldn’t live that way.’ So, I aspire to do the things that you’ve never done. That’s where you learn the most about yourself. We all know that.”

Ed Sheeran recently was at a signing at a record store inside a mall and crashed a performance of a young girl singing his song outside of the store, Check out that video now!
