Ordinary People Experiencing ‘Twitter & Facebook ‘Rage’

This is true and very disturbing! Ordinary people who would never behave so badly in regular life circumstances, will undergo road rage-like personality changes when using Facebook and Twitter. That’s a dangerous combination especially as we consider the fact that cyber-bullying is on the rise.

Psychologists say that just as normally calm drivers sometimes lash out when they get frustrated behind the wheel, many normally kind and calm people can become uncharacteristically angry on social media. During ‘road rage’ sometimes drivers will use their vehicle as a ‘weapon,’ and now some people are using the anonymity of the internet to use angry words as weapons, sometimes against total strangers for no reason at all. My question is “WHY?”

I believe that we are ALL accountable for everything we do, whether anyone knows what we are doing or not. We KNOW the difference between right and wrong, and need to act accordingly. Karma is a ‘you know what’ and she WILL get you back…eventually!

If someone on social media says something that ‘enrages’ you….un-friend them or ‘un-follow’ them and let it go! Two wrongs NEVER make a right, that’s what my Mama told me and she is RIGHT!

How do you protect yourself from exhibiting road-rage like tendencies while on social media?
