Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines Still Not Ready to Make Nice

March 10 marked the 12th anniversary of Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks surprising the country world, and the world at large, when she remarked from a stage in London that she did not support the actions of then President George W. Bush, and that she opposed the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

On March 11, Maines sent out a tweet addressing her feelings on the issue today. Not surprisingly, she’s still not ready to make nice.

In her tweet, below, Maines stands behind her content and against detractors.

Back in 2003, Maines original comment was, “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.”
