While Tim McGraw has officially unveiled his new album, “Sundown Heaven Town,” to the public today, a very select group of folks got a full-fledged peek at a private event in Franklin, Tennessee on Sunday night. According to CMT, the packed room at Gray’s on Main, was not only packed with the movers and shakers of Nashville, but also, bellies packed courtesy of a buffet of lamb chops, shrimp and grits and signature cocktails named in honor of the album.
And, yes, bratty people, his wife, Faith Hill, and their three girls were there to cheer him on. After mingling with guests, McGraw took the stage to thank everyone for their attendance and support before launching into an intimate performance of his new single, “Shotgun Rider,” “Keep on Truckin‘” (also from the new album) and his big smash “Felt Good on My Lips” (performed with his old pals, the Warren Brothers, who are also the song’s co-writers).
Speaking of the songs, there are 18 on this package and when asked why so many, Tim replied that he couldn’t help himself. “I couldn’t get rid of any of them,” he explained. “I just loved them all so much. There’s so much talent on here. You guys and gals who write these songs, we live in a town that’s just full of great poets.”
