With something as delicious sounding as the Bacon & Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza, it is a surprise that Pizza Hut needs any marketing plan at all. You’d think simply the creation of such a delicacy would see word of mouth take hold, with bacon lovers whispering in the shadows, cheese addicts spreading the joyful news on message boards, and crust-a-maniacs email-blasting just like they did when Little Caesar’s recently unveiled its pretzel crust.
Well, Pizza Hut did not think this would be enough, and sought the help of country superstar and The Voice host Blake Shelton for their B&CSCP media blitz. The concept is simple: get the six-foot-five Shelton pretend to be a regular Pizza Hut employee named “Stephen,” have a manager (obviously out of his depth when it comes to acting) vouch for him, watch customers not buy it for second and all laugh together while stuffing our face with a delicious treat.
