Women Suffering From ‘Retired Husband Syndrome’

Some men might like to imagine that their wives miss them while they are at work and count down the hours until they return. But a new study suggests that the opposite could be true and that wives suffer from “Retired Husband Syndrome” once their husbands have given up work. Did or does your husband drive you crazy now that he is retired?
Experts claim that women can suffer “stress, higher depression or inability to sleep” once their husbands retire. Scientists said that the condition does not only affect housewives, but in fact can be even worse for women who have been working for years.

One thing I have noticed with some men whose work is the center of their lives, when they retire they feel that they no longer have a purpose in life. When guys who spend the majority of time during their adult life at work and do not develop hobbies and other activities outside of work, suddenly feel lost when they retire from work.

I personally will never ‘settle down’ and ‘do nothing’ when it comes time to ‘retire’ from my career in radio. My bucket list includes becoming a charter boat captain one day, and take couples out fishing in the Florida Keys in the winter months! Everybody has a DREAM…and that is mine!

Why will this or will this not be an issue for you?
