Justin Townsend Was Our Superman

The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald is sad to shares the news that our friend, 13 year old Justin Townsend, lost his battle with cancer and passed away on August 7th in the morning at his home surrounded by family and friends. Justin was such a strong little boy. We met Justin’s family while working the St. Jude Radiothon. Justin was a St. Jude’s patient and was only diagnosed last fall with his illness.

Like many boys his age, Justin was a HUGE fan of sports. Justin had the chance to meet one of his heroes at a Detroit Tigers Game earlier this year. Here is a photo of Justin and his family with Justin Verlander.

Justin was also a fan of the Detroit Red Wings. He had a chance to visit the locker room at the Joe Louis Arena and you can tell from this picture, he was loving it!

Justin will forever be in our hearts. He fought the good fight and brighten this world and the people around him for the 13 years he spent with them. We only knew him for a short while, but he definitely brightened up our world. His family and friends have all changed their social media profile pictures to the Superman logo in honor of Justin. He was absolutely our Superman. We love you Justin!
