I do not claim to be a marriage expert in any way, shape or form. But I will say that I have never been happier, and even though this is my 3rd marriage, I know with 100% certainty, that I will be married to my husband Jeff ‘until death do us part!’ I made a LOT of mistakes, and I still think that staying happily married is and will always be a ‘work in progress!’ You can learn from others too, and I found this list of a few things that happily married couples do every day, and wanted to share it with YOU too!
Things that happily married couples do:
They stop to say “hello.” Research shows that how you spend the first four minutes of the evening at home sets the tone for the rest of the night.
They celebrate each other. How you react to each other’s good news may be even more important than how you help each other cope with sadness.
They have fun together. Research shows that couples who make time for fun activities stay together longer.
They talk about what they ate for lunch. Sharing the minutia of our lives with our spouses, no matter how insignificant the details seem, goes a long way toward fueling a connection and establishing intimacy.
They have inside jokes. Every time you do something that makes your partner smile, it drives a physical change and allows your body to release chemicals like dopamine and oxytocin in both of your brains.
If you too are happily married, what would YOU add to this list? What else do most all happily married couples do?
