Women’s Health tells us that the average married couple has a fight once a month. And when they are upset, whether it’s justified or not, most women will also vent to a friend. If you were thinking that you and your spouse are the only ones who argue at least once a month, relax….you’re just a ‘average couple!’ If you are fighting all the time, that’s another story…
Other findings in the Women’s Health survey were:
74% of women think is bad to go to bed angry
33% of women eat comfort food when angry
35% of women always need to win a fight
38% of women will seek revenge
52% of women will hold a grudge
If you are married, chances are that you will have disagreements and arguments. Chuck Edwards calls himself “The King Of Resolution” and in all honesty, he has also taught me how to more easily resolve differences, rather than let things simmer and go on for an extended period of time.
One thing I have come to realize with my husband, is that I love him and despite our differences, we are in this ‘until death do us part.’ I have also come to realize that ‘every day we have here on earth is a gift with no promise of tomorrow‘ and now I make a point of making up with my husband ‘SOONER than later’ rather than wasting a whole day angry and ticked off. I figure we are going to ‘kiss & make up‘ so I don’t let more than an hour or two go by before I reach out to mend the rift! I decided I do not want to waste a whole day being mad, and this seems to work much better than waiting for days to make up with one another.
The funniest thing is that it seems to me ‘after the fact‘ that we usually argue about the stupidest things, so lots of times we can resolve our anger by laughing about the whole thing and how petty and dumb it was to begin with! Like our last ‘big fight’ over my husband eating my leftover Mexican food!!
The most stupid or silly thing you recently argued about with your spouse?
