Kacey Musgraves Returns To The Top Of The Country Charts

Kacey Musgravesrecent two Grammy wins helped propel her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, back to the top of the Billboard Country albums chart with 27,288 albums sold this week, giving the CD a sales boost of 177%. The album has now sold a total of  342,640 copies, according to SoundScan.

Same Trailer Different Park debuted at Number One on the Billboard Country albums chart and at Number Two on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 chart last March when the album was released.

Kacey tells The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald her goal with Same Trailer Different Park is that listeners will be able to identify with the songs. “Well, hopefully when people hear Same Trailer, they will obviously love it, but also I hope they walk away with just knowing that I’m influenced by so many different kinds of things, and I hope they just connect in some way. I mean, if I can make somebody feel something then I feel like I’ve done my job as a songwriter. So, that’s my favorite part — just being inspired by something I went through and seeing other people say, ‘I get it, like I went through that, too.’”

Kacey picked up Grammys for Best Country Album for Same Trailer Different Park and Best Country Song for “Merry Go ‘Round.” She also performed her latest single, “Follow Your Arrow,” during the live telecast.
