Fans arrived early to the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit for the Sunday night show. Ashley Monroe, who opened for Hunter, shared how beautiful the Fox Theatre is with all of her Instagram followers
Hunter Hayes went on to perform a two hour set filled with excitement, high energy, and screaming fans. He dedicated “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me” to “all the awkwardly single people in the room,” which elicited high pitched screams from the crowd.
The song is a duet with Jason Mraz, who appears on a large video screen behind Hunter. The duet was executed flawlessly and if you had closed your eyes, you wouldn’t have known Mraz wasn’t really there.
Hunter took time during his show to thank “all the service men and women in the audience. We can’t say thank you enough,” before playing “Where We Left Off.” The song was featured on the soundtrack for the movie, Act Of Valor. Scenes from the film were shown on the big screen, as Hunter played the piano during the song.
Hunter closed out his sold out show at the Fox Theatre with even more energy than he began with. Confetti rained down on screaming fans as he sang “I Want Crazy.”
