Never Get Ripped Off For Beer Again!

Author: Rob Stone

So you’re sitting at a bar in Michigan and you order a pint of your favorite beer. It tastes so delicious as soon as it hits your lips, but did you ever stop to think, “I wonder if this pint is actually 16 ounces of beer?” I’ve never really thought about it, but apparently many bars and restaurants advertise their beers as pints, only to serve up 12-14 ounces of beer.

Have no fear Michigan! Rep. David Knezek from Dearborn Heights introduced a bill to the State House that will guarantee that any establishment advertising and selling pints must serve 16 ounces of beer in that pint glass.  The legislation reads: “Sec. 106: An on-premises licensee shall not advertise or sell any glass of beer as a pint in this state unless that glass contains at least 16 oz. of beer.”

I’ve never met David, but I like his style. He sticks with the most important issues in our state. Ha! Have you ever been to a bar and complained that your pint wasn’t actually a pint? I’d like to hear from you. Leave a comment below…
