Trace Adkins is back on a movie set this month, shooting a comedy called Mom’s Night Out. His co-stars are Sarah Drew, Patricia Heaton, and Sean Astin. The movie is about three suburban housewives who get bored and go out for a night on the town.
Trace plays a biker named “Bones” and he had a similar role in the 2011 film The Lincoln Lawyer. Trace talks about the role in the upcoming movie. He shares with The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald, “I’m playing a biker again, I don’t know why I keep getting that role, but I’ll gladly do it, it’s fun, and this will be the first comedy thing I’ve done in a movie. It’s called Mom’s Night Out, I don’t know when it’ll come out. Those movie things, you know, I’ll go do and sometimes I’ll have a small part, and I’ll only be on the set for 3 or 4 days, and so you go do the thing, and then you just forget about it, cause the movie don’t come out for like a year. So you just go on, and don’t think about it anymore.”
Trace Adkins has actually completed work on a couple of other movies: The Virginian and Saving Santa. Trace says he enjoys the creative process of making movies. He says, “It’s something I enjoy doing, and I really do, I get a kick out of it. One of the things I still enjoy the most about the music business are the tracking days, when we go in the studio and the musicians are in there, and everybody is collaborating, and creativity, and it’s invigorating, I find the same kinda thing on movie sets and television sets. There are all these talented creative people, and those kind of environments, I find it stimulating, I really do.” There’s no official word on when any of the movies will be released.
