Taylor Swift’s 10 Best White Dresses During The ‘Red’ Era
For a girl who named her latest album Red, Taylor Swift sure loves wearing white. Her favoritism for the color has especially shown up on the red carpet, where a quick and semi-scientific survey by our red carpet experts has shown that while promoting Red, Swift has worn a white or cream dress well over 50 percent of the time. It may even be 75 percent. Very scientific stuff here. At any rate, white (and its nearby shades) is obviously the unofficial official color of Taylor Swift circa her album Red.
Radio.com has compiled her top 10 best white looks from her Red red carpet appearances.
10. January 9, 2013 — 39th Annual People’s Choice Awards — Ralph Lauren Collection
This is Taylor in a deep dive v-neck dress by a design house she rarely wears, as she usually prefers more sparkle than the minimalistic Lauren supplies. There was much speculation at the time that T-Swift chose the dress for its revealing aspects, as she’d recently broken up with boybander Harry Styles. She masterfully accents the generous cleavage on display here with an angelic, wavy up-do.
9. December 5, 2012 — GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — wearing Maria Lucia Hohan
Romantic Taylor was on display for this event, co-hosted with LL Cool J. She’s playing it a little bit sexy, with the nude cover under her lace dress, but on the whole this is classic Taylor Swift: the full skirt, the high neck and the ultra-girly lace.
8. November 29, 2012 — 26th Annual ARIA Awards — wearing Elie Saab
Elie Saab is one of Taylor’s favorite designers, and this pick from his Fall 2012 collection highlights why. The two have similar tastes and a penchant for: long flowing dresses with a curved neckline, thin straps, and gowns that are very defined in the waist and bust even when they appear not to be. Taylor’s braided chignon here also appeared on several red carpets, pre-performance.
7. January 24, 2013 — 40 Principales Awards — wearing Kaufman Franco
This was another of the eye-poppingly low cut choices in January that worked the press into a frenzy. Kaufman Franco are known for their eye-catching collections of outfits that are cut down-to (or up-to) there, skintight, or otherwise present the illusion of showing skin. And they’re not afraid to add in sequins, crystals or fur for a wow factor. While Taylor’s keyhole cut stole the show, a big part of what makes this dress so Taylor-y is the thousands of little crystals reflecting light off of it.
