Carrie Underwood Replacing Faith Hill On ‘Sunday Night Football’

It’s out with Faith Hill and in with Carrie Underwood! NBC has chosen the former American Idol winner to carry the torch and be the new voice and face of Sunday Night Football. Carrie will perform the “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” opening theme beginning on Sunday, September 8th, which is NBC’s first SNF broadcast of the 2013 NFL. That matchup will be between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants in Dallas.

Carrie said, “I am thrilled to be a part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me. I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!” On Monday (May 6th) Carrie teased the news by tweeting, “Just to let you know, we have some great news that we’ll be sharing tomorrow! I’m really excited about it! Stay tuned . . .”

She quickly followed that up with, “Goodness gracious! From now on, any time I say I have good news, I’m going to have to follow it up with the hashtag #NoImNotPregnant sheesh!” Carrie continues on her Blown Away tour, which wraps up on May 23 in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
