Twitter & Facebook Turning ‘PDA’s’ Into VDA!

When you see a couple engaging in some serious “PDA” (pubic display of affection) it can make us all uncomfortable to say the least! That is where the term ‘get a room’ most likely came from too! Well a new study says that lovebirds who take to Twitter and Facebook to proclaim romantic feelings are also a turn-off for all the rest of us who read these mushy-gushy postings that are now called “VDA’s“….

Nearly a quarter of us have felt annoyed by VDAs – “virtual displays of affection.” Even when these lovebirds write in ‘code’ about how “tonight will be very special for a certain someone when he gets home from work and Victoria’s Secret will greet him at the door.”  Do they really think that all their friends and family members wanna know who is getting lucky tonight?

There’s nothing wrong with letting your close friends know you’re happy, but it’s important to keep in mind who you’re sharing it with. Don’t lose sight of the fact that your Mom, Grandma and Aunt Susie are probably reading your posts on Facebook and Twitter too!

The study also found one in three people say they would rather not see people call their other halves by their pet names on social networking sites.

Does VDA bother you?
