After the real Brad Paisley and LL Cool J made the rounds of talk shows all last week, speaking about their new collaborative song “Accidental Racist,” it figures that Saturday Night Live would get in on the action, too. And sure enough, this past weekend, SNL included a skit about the song during the Weekend Update portion of the show.
Joining Weekend Update host Seth Meyers were “LL Cool J” (played by Kenan Thompson) and “Brad Paisley” (played by Jason Sudeikis).
“We did it,” said “LL,” wearing a black jacket, earrings, and black knit cap. “Racism’s over ya’ll!”
“Just took one song!” chimed in “Brad,” sporting a white cowboy hat.
“Brad” went on to describe his inspiration for the song. “Country music is about stories,” he explained. “What I wanted to do was tell the gritty, racial reality of a man at Starbucks talking to his barista.”
“When I agreed to do a country song,” “LL” went on to say, “I knew I was risking my reputation as the most lowdown, hardcore cast member of NCIS.” The real LL is a castmember on the popular CBS crime show.
Brad is no stranger to spoofs. He’s of course a proud practical joker himself, and even uses his South Park caricature as his Twitter image. So it’s little surprise he took the SNL skit in stride.
Well, we wanted to start the conversation. This is fantastic.lockerz.com/s/289544573
