Scotty McCreery is a busy guy, but he is still a guy who will do whatever it takes to make time for a social life, including dating!  Scotty is currently touring and getting through his first year in college. Like any other 19-year-old, he makes sure he spends time with friends whenever he can, but says romance ain’t easy with a schedule like his. While rumor has it he is still in contact with his high school sweetheart, he admits to a big ‘crush’ on an older woman too….

McCreery’s rumored to still be seeing his former classmate, Gabi Dugal, but he tells Electric Barnyard:

“The dating life on the road is a tough thing to get around, it’s tough to even work out anything.”

Scotty also set the record straight regarding the rumors that he and American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina were an item, explaining that they are actually just friends who still try to keep in touch:

“We stay in contact some, it’s one of those things where we’re both kind of off in our own little worlds, touring and doing different things, but we’ll see each other every now and then … She’s doing great.”

So ‘who’ is the older woman who Scotty says he would love to date, despite the big age difference, if given the chance?

“Erin Andrews. She’s pretty special, too,” he says of the Fox Sports announcer. “There’s something about a girl [who] knows sports!”
