In my experiences there is still a 50/50 mix of women who think “cougar” is an appropriate term, but whatever you decide to call it, there is no doubt that many women look for younger men and vice versa. Cruise lines have even decided to take advantage of the “cougar” trends by hosting cruises based on having older women and younger men mingling together on a party boat. “It is a very party-like atmosphere, and it serves a purpose for part of society that has been there all along and getting stronger and more prevalent,” Ann Thomas, director of Singles Travel Company, told the Huffington Post.
Originally the Singles Travel Company had a partnership with Carnival Cruise lines and held 7 “Cougar Cruises,” but after the recent controversy Carnival decided to bail on the event. They didn’t explain why, but most assume they’re going for a more wholesome image now. Since their departure it doesn’t mean “Cougar Cruises” will go away. Since then Royal Caribbean is hosting the romance excursions.
By this time you’re either thinking, “who cares?” or “how do I get on this boat?” You have only two options. One is to get an invite and the other is to call Singles Travel Company and apply.
