When a bunch of boys who attend Milford High School decided to film a parody video of the “Harlem Shake,” what they were hoping for was a viral YouTube video of the latest internet dance craze. What they got instead was a 5-day school suspension for lying to a teacher who let them into a classroom after hours, to film what school officials are calling a ‘vulgar video’ on school grounds.
Eighteen-year-old Alex Larson says tells The Oakland Press that he and several friends at Milford High School in Highland Township were suspended for three to five days.
While the guys are dancing in a variety of costumes, some that look like super-heroes, at least one holds a bird that flaps its wings in a sexually suggestive manner. Larson says the video was shot after school in an empty classroom. While the video has not gone totally viral, it has receive thousands of views already. Now that it is all over the news, I’m sure the page views will go up as well.
Channel 7 Action News, WXYZ, reported the story as well, including clips of the video here:
Teenage kids do stupid stuff, always have and always will. I’m not saying what they did was not wrong, it was. But I am happy looking back at my high school days before YouTube and smartphones and super grateful that I was not caught on camera doing the ‘stupid stuff’ I did at that age. Peer pressure can make you do some stupid things, that is for sure!
What is the stupidest thing you did as a teenager that got you suspended from high school?
