For the 85th Academy Awards, the red carpet was a mix of strapless gowns, sparkly haute couture and pale colored dresses for fashion’s biggest night. See complete list of winners!
Jennifer Lawrence was one of the night’s most talked about stars. Not only for taking home Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook (and possibly her acceptance stumble), but for her white Dior gown.
Zero Dark Thirty’s Jessica Chastain, who lost the Best Actress trophy to Lawrence, looked every bit the star with her Veronica Lake waves and sparkly blush colored custom Giorgio Armani gown.
Fellow Best Actress nom, Naomi Watts also stuck with the sparkly trend in her well- constructed Armani Prive silver gown.
Amy Adams went frilly with her icey blue Oscar de la Renta.
Anne Hathaway, who took home Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables, wore a pale pink satin Prada gown, which she said she chose only three hours before hitting the red carpet.
Django Unchained’s Kerry Washington went bold with a coral Miu Miu dress.
While Jennifer Aniston went bright with her red strapless Valentino ballgown.
Reese Witherspoon stepped out in a navy blue Louis Vuitton adorned with a small black bow at the top.
Jennifer Hudson, who performed “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from her award-winning role in Dreamgirls, looked slim in her sparkly blue Roberto Cavalli couture dress.
Adele once again opted for black in her bejeweled Jenny Packham gown.
And let’s not forget the night’s youngest nominee, 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis, who wore a bright blue ball gown from Armani perfectly accessorized with a puppy purse. The young actress might have went home empty handed, but announced she’ll soon be taking on the role of little orphan Annie in the movie remake.
