Where’s My Refund?

Technology has changed most everything, including finding out exactly ‘when’ you can expect your IRS tax refund! Before the internet, you just ran to the mailbox every day waiting for that IRS tax refund on a paper check! Now we have electronic deposit right into your bank account, and the “Where’s My Refund?” website that will tell you when to expect that check! But the IRS says overeager taxpayers may be expecting too much…

The IRS is asking those of us eager to find out the status of our tax refund to stop checking their website every 5 minutes! Checking the website once a day is enough.

Their “Where’s my refund?” website and smartphone app are being overwhelmed by taxpayers. The agency says its systems are only updated once a day, usually overnight.

Due to advanced technology, 9 out of 10 taxpayers typically receive refunds in less than 21 days too.

What do you plan to do with your tax refund this year?

Read more and check the status of your refund here on the IRS Where’s My Refund website.
