I will be the first to admit, that my hair is very important to me. It feels stupid to even say that out loud, but it’s true. If I am having a ‘bad hair day’ I feel totally ‘off my game’ and it does affect my attitude for sure. How silly is that…..but guess what? A recent study at the prestigious Yale University found that people may actually perform below their abilities when they believe their hair is not looking its best…..
Researchers at Yale University found that “bad hair” can have profound effects on your mental well-being, causing both women and men to lose self-esteem, become more socially insecure and even doubt their own abilities. Yep….. that’s me for sure!
I am a licensed cosmetologist, and I am such a freak about my hair that 99% of the time, I cut and color it myself. Most stylists will tell you that a ‘do-it-yourself’ hairdo is the worst thing you can do, but I like the way I do it the best! That does not mean I don’t totally screw it up on occasion…there have been many times I have ended up with an uneven cut, or cut it WAY too short trying to even it out! Trying to cut the back and sides of your own hair using a mirror is not an easy feat! My husband hakes his head and laughs at me, saying “You PAY to get our dogs groomed, yet do your own kitchen hairdo….what a freak!”
Are you a freak about your hair, and totally off your game when you have a bad hair day?
