11-Ton Meteor Hits Russia!

Early this morning in Russia, an 11 ton meteor raced through the skies at 33,000MPH and exploded! The meteor lit up the skies over Chelyabinsk and actually disrupted cell and TV services. The meteor also caused a sonic boom that destroyed windows and collapsed a roof of a zinc factory.

There was ton of amateur video of the meteor as it streaks across the sky and then exploded injuring around 400 people. Here is one of a couple in co-workers in their office and then the windows blow.

The U.S. space agency NASA has said an asteroid known as 2012 DA14, about 46 meters in diameter, would have an encounter with Earth closer than any asteroid since scientists began routinely monitoring them about 15 years ago.
