Alan Jackson Mistakes Kid Rock For The Help

Alan Jackson returns to Detroit on February 7th at the Palace of Auburn Hills and he is bringing Gloriana and Greg Bates along for the ride. Alan talks with The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald to talk about the upcoming show. During the interview, Alan chats about selling a car to Carrie Underwood and also a run-in he had with Kid Rock at the North American International Auto Show years ago.

Alan Jackson is an avid car collector. He says that he has dwindled down his collection over the years  and now has 9-10 cars. One of his cars that he sold was a 69 Camaro. He sold the car to Carrie Underwood who was looking for something for her husband Mike Fisher. When asked how the transaction came to be, Alan says “A couple of years ago she was looking to buy something for her new husband, something special for his birthday and he always wanted a vintage Camaro from 68 or 69. He’s a hockey player and a couple of Camaro’s have a paint scheme on the side that looks like a hockey stick. I had one of them and was just gonna sell it and she came by and looked at it.”

Alan also told us a story of one time years ago when he was in Detroit for the Auto Show and while he was in a VIP area eating, he had a run in with Kid Rock and thought he worked the buffet line. “I was standing in the buffet line there waiting for the food and this guy came up from behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and he had long, string hair and a t-shirt on and he said Mr. Jackson and I said yes and I thought he said you rock but someone said no that’s Kid Rock. I thought he worked the buffet line!”
